27 Cool Photos Of International Coins

Money . It ’s not all that matters , but not much else count without it . Forthis week ’s Shooting Challenge , we had you shoot money . Specifically , coin . And the resultant were howling .

I ’m based in Australia , but charge New Zealand coins , due to the Australian requirement to request permission before publishing any photos of coin . I require to capture the texture of the coin , so I spent a reasonable chip of fourth dimension sour on inflammation angles to best show it off . In the ending I went with a long exposure ( 1.3sec ) with a first pall filling heartbeat to rend out all the details . This was tear on a Canon 550D ( ISO : 400 , Shutter : 1.3 ” , Aperture : f/36 )

These are real GOLD coins ! I was in the Louvre Museum yesterday and took this snap . Did not enjoy the museum , to be frank . Maybe because during most of the prison term my 8yo boy kept tap us to leave . It is kinda tiresome for kids anyway . 5D M III , 16 - 35 mm lense .

Piggy Bank Theft

Grabbed a coin from my Word ’s piggy bank , an idea popped in my head to shoot it submersed , I ’m not a lensman so I just ride it on a wood tabular array under the kitchen light and started shooting , and trusted the link television camera . Equipment : link 6 with stock 3.82 mm focal length lens , methamphetamine hydrochloride of water , incandescent light . configurations : no wink , 2.0 aperture , 287 ISO , 1/30 shutter . Technique : coin in about 2 inches of water , overhead ignitor with dark wood background , inject straight down with camera right on on top of the shabu .

Did n’t have any Canadian money or anything else with color , and the whole illegal aspect was a light barricade . Remembered playing Monopoly with my kids a few workweek back and boom ! Threw in some Tootsie Roll tonic just because … Sony DSC - RX . Shot on some white printing machine paper propped up by a cupful and binder clip under some standard T8 office lights .

These nickels were recover in the “ dead zone ” of a crossing in the North Park vicinity of San Diego . you could almost see Jefferson ’s mind in one of them . Taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC - LX5 . ISO 80 f /4.5 @ 1/10th sec . raw light w/ tripod . Contrast bumped - up to highlight gouges .

This photo was ingest with my Canon 6D equipped with the Canon 100 mm f/2.8L lens of the eye . For firing , I used a unproblematic desk lamp which I could easily put around . When I saw this challenge fare up on Gizmodo , I already cognise what I want to captivate : a side snapshot of coins lined up . After finally finding some sentence , I picked up some loose change , lined up the coin and occupy the photo . I shot this one at ISO 200 and a shutter of 1/100 . The aperture was also set at f/2.8 to maximize the blur effect which helped take out the crudeness from the paries behind and create a smooth incandescence from the Inner Light , while giving me enough DOF to capture the keenness of the coin ’s edges .

This 1 centime is worth $ 2.24 x10 - 4 ( found on $ 1 = Php44.6 conversion rate ) . It ’s my first sentence to try reverse lensing and I was surprised that I still did n’t have enough dof at f11 . I record diffraction becomes a problem after f/11 so I did n’t go beyond it . I estimate I had 4 mm in focus on this 15 mm diameter coin . Olympus E - M10 at 1/160 f/11 ISO 200 with Oly 40 - 150 f4 - 5.6 on body and Minolta MD 50 mm f2 as reverse lens of the eye .
