The Waldspirale building in Darmstadt , Germany looks like an elfish eco - palace . Its curving , layered look is heightened by the fact that grass , tree diagram , and shrub grow all over its exterior . And nigh every part of it is custom-make .

[ It was ] designed by Austrian creative person , Friedensreich Hundertwasser , and built during the 1990s . . . Its aslant roof is spread over with Gunter Grass , shrubs and Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree and the facade follows an irregular grid organisation . Waldspirale has over 1,000 windows , but no two are the same . The handgrip on the apartment door and the windows are also unique .

And yes , people have been live here for almost a tenner . This is the perfect wedding party of beauty and gamey - density .
