“I believe this is how they are making good,” owner Voahangy Rasetarinera tells PEOPLE.

Tesla offered her San Jose bakery, The Giving Pies, additional business but Rasetarinera says she turned it down — because she has too many other orders to fill.

“They asked us to cater their Women’s events but we had to decline,” the business owner says.

Rasetarinerashared her story on Facebook in a now-viral post, claiming that a Tesla rep approached her on Valentine’s Day about ordering thousands of mini pies and then later “casually” informed her “that the plan had changed and Tesla would no longer require the order.”

“This abrupt reversal left me reeling, realizing the extent of the impact on my small business,” the business owner wrote. “I had invested time, resources and effort based on assurances from Tesla, only to be left high and dry.”

PEOPLE reached out to Tesla for comment, but they did not immediately respond.

Last week, the bakery owner explained the sequence of events that led Tesla to cancel the order to PEOPLE.

“They offered to me to cater two of their events on March 6 and 7 for delivery of 1,600 mini pies each day,” Rasetarinera told PEOPLE. “They said they would email me and that this time we will go through the proper channels so that I can get paid.”

Now, Rasetarinera has more business than she can handle, which made her turn down the additional job offers from Tesla.

“We are working nonstop now,” Rasetarinera told PEOPLE on Tuesday.
