Ben Stillerand his wifeChristine Taylorturned a red carpet outing into a family affair.
On Thursday, the couple made a rare appearance with their 18-year-old sonQuinlin Dempseyas they hosted the 25th Project ALS Anniversary at the Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.
PEOPLE caught up with the married pair after posing with Quinlin on the red carpet, the actor, 57, and actress, 52, sharing what they like to do in their downtime.
“We like to hang out as a family,” Stiller told PEOPLE, with Taylor noting, “We play tennis together a lot, which is fun.”
“We just like to hang out,” continued Stiller. “We really do enjoy hanging out as a family. Watching movies, playing silly tennis.”

“We also play a lot of the game Celebrity,” added Taylor. “It’s really a fun one. You don’t need a board, you just need some paper and you write down names.”
As for who is the most competitive during the family game, Stiller laughed, “Oh, I mean, we all get into it!”
“We all get a little edgy for sure, but it’s really fun," added Taylor. “The joke is it’s called Celebrity but nine times out of ten, there’s someone in there that’s just a family member!”
“Or the dogs!” noted Stiller.

In photos from the carpet, Taylor wore a chic black mini dress featuring a white bow design. She accessorized the look with black and silver heels and a bold red lip. Stiller, meanwhile, sported a navy blue suit and tie with a white shirt, with their son looking equally fetching in a black suit and silver-blue tie.
“Yes,” revealed Stiller, adding that their son is a “tough critic” when it comes to their work.
“I think they’re both tough critics!” said Taylor. “But in a good way.”
“In a good way,” continued Stiller. “Tough critic in a good way because he is very discerning. So it’s fun to watch movies and see what he likes and what he doesn’t like. Ella, our daughter, is a drama student and actor — so they know what they like and what they think is good.”

Back in June, it was Ella’s turn to walk the red carpet with her parents, with the actressjoining the coupleat the Tribeca Film Festival to attend the premiere of Taylor’s short filmLet Liv.
Stiller and Tayor married in 2000. Theyseparatedin 2017, but decided torekindle their marriageduring theCOVID-19pandemic.
In March, Taylordiscussed the pair’s decision to reconcileduring an appearance onThe Drew Barrymore Show. “Family was always a priority, but I think Ben and I both started to grow in different directions,” Taylor told herWedding SingercostarDrew Barrymore. “And when wemade the decision to separate, it was not something we wanted to talk publicly about or took lightly.”
