While the conversation admit some interesting choice morsel aboutBeetlejuice‘s half-pint cocktail glove - puppets andThe Handbook for the Recently Deceased(“ … someone actually wrote an integral enchiridion . I think it was just a prop ! ” Ryder exclaims ) , very little is revealed bout next month ’s continuation . However , Burton mark the pic ’s titular character reference will once again love fewer than 20 minutes of screen time .
As he says , “ I did n’t realise until after we shot it [ the sequel ] that it almost mirrored the same docket we had on the first one . You were probably in this one more than the first motion-picture show , but we always said less is more . ” Keaton echoes Burton comment , stating it was a measured decision to keep Beetlejuice ’s schtick to a minimum . “ Yeah , our agreement was no more Beetlejuice than the last time . If it ’s over a min or two , possibly , but we ’ve all seen that unsuccessful person . ‘ Hey man , those car crash were really good . Let ’s give ’em 50 car clangoring . ’ We both knew , do n’t do that . ”

So , can we really expect few than 20 minutes of the film ’s marquee character ? One who is billedtwicein its very title , Beetlejuice Beetlejuice ? In the original movie , Beetlejuice only has 17 minutes of screen fourth dimension in a picture show that consort just 92 - min long . As the sequel runs 104 , he ’d need just a few more minute of screen time to reach an adequate proportion .
Has thenewly reenergizedTim Burton , once again filming with practical consequence and his pre - Johnny Depp muse learned to reign himself in since 2019’sDumbo ? In the same interview , Keaton — by his own prompting — admits he “ absorb in Dumbo , ” stating : “ I love do work with Tim so much , but I do n’t think we ever really analyze why we work reasonably well together ; we just do .
