Union, 51, wore an embellished strapless mini dress over a matching column skirt from Carolina Herrera with a dazzling Tiffany & Co. diamond and aquamarine necklace. “I am feeling myself,” the star told Laverne Cox during the E! red carpet pre-show of her glamorous look.Wade, 42, opted for a custom Versace look featuring a white tux jacket and black trousers.For Wade, Sunday isn’t just a glamorous night out with his wife, it also marks his first time attending the ceremony as anAcademy Award nominee. The NBA legend served as an executive producer onThe Barber of Little Rock, which is nominated in the Best Documentary Short category.

In February, Wade revealed to PEOPLE that his family originally had a subduedreaction to his nomination. He revealed they said, “That’s cool,” and little else. However,his oldest daughter, Zaya, was the first to realize just how impactful her dad’s latest accomplishment is.
“I was having dinner with Zaya, my 16-year-old daughter, and I was like, ‘Oh, let me share. Let’s have a little cheers moment,’ " he said. " ‘Your dad is nominated for an Oscar with his production company.’ And she was like, ‘Really? For what?'”
Wade continued, “And I shared with her that it wasBarber of Little Rock, and she said, ‘Wait a minute. My friends have been talking about it. They’ve watched it, they’ve seen it.’ "
“So that was a cool moment to be able to let my daughter know that I’m on that side of the world, and we’re telling some, and highlighting some really cool stories that are meaningful and impactful.”

Wade and Union’s date night comes just a few weeks after the couplecelebrated Wade’s 42nd birthdayin January. In addition to throwing her husband a party in Miami, the actress also shared a sweet shoutout to him on Instagram.
“You are a gift to me, your family and everyone you encounter,” she wrote. “Your purpose is rooted in the divine. May the blessings on blessings rain down on you. Love you Bay.”
Wade and Uniontied the knot in August 2014. In 2018, they welcomed their now 5-year-old daughter Kaavia James.Their blended familyincludes Zaya and Zaire, 22, whom Wade shares with his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches. He also has a 10-year-old son Xavier with Aja Metoyer, and is legal guardian to his nephew Dahveon Morris, 21.
