George Miller has been directing pulse - pounding action at law sequences foralmost 50 years . It set forth in the late seventies with his first film , Mad Max , and stay through the ten , turn over a whole new level of awesome in 2015’sMad Max : Fury Road . There has to be a causal relationship between one distinction and the next , one chord to the next . Otherwise there ’s no advance or flow to it . It ’s exactly the same with movie . There has to be a causal relationship between one bit of stage dancing , one shooter , and the next thing . So they make up , if you care , a full passage , a full sentence . ”

Miller went on to talk about work with composer throughout his career and one in finical that really shanghai him . “ I ’ve been prosperous enough to with some really great composers and one of the things they ’re doing is picking up a kind of cadence in the carrying out , in the verbal carrying into action and the cycle in the means that dance between what ’s being filmed and the camera , ” Miller said . “ All of that has an intrinsical round and there are certain beat that they pick up very quickly so as to sort of publish the music . ”
“ Way back in the ‘ 80s , I did a film The Witches of Eastwick which John Williams scored , ” Miller keep on . “ Then it was synthetic on a flat . Now , you could see all the music digitally … but he was picking it up just sitting there listening to it . And he say , ‘ Oh , you know I see the beats and whatever ’ very speedily . And I agnise now that ’s what [ composers ] are doing all the prison term . So there ’s in spades a rhythm to it that ’s very , very important in the way that you put it together . ”
However , in addition to the flow , Miller also revealed one more thing that is crucial in his action conniption . “ Most of all , with action , I would say the scene are really driven by the narration , which is driven by the characters , and their wants and intent and the way of life they come into fight with each other , ” he said , “ And it has to be a rise conflict . So an natural process scene is all about the eccentric . It ’s another way for characters to interact . And unless you have that , then it becomes sort of empty calories , watch all this move and noise just to go past the time , rather than somehow have it have deeper meanings . ”
