At the recent Los Angeles Comic Con , Esposito was asked about repay toStar Wars — specificallyThe Mandalorianseason four , whichhas yet to be announced , though you have to assume any speculation about Moff Gideon ’s payoff could also includeThe Mandalorian & Grogufeature celluloid , come May 2026 . According toPeople , Esposito was enthusiastic in his response , saying he would “ screw to ” hark back to the role .
“ I do n’t live much about what ’s going on . I know they ’re make a moving-picture show . I do n’t know if they ’re get to repay to the show or not , but anything is open . And I certainly result the best opening ever for Moff Gideon to come back . I love it when you see a case go over the edge , but you do n’t quite know what happens , ” he enounce .

Esposito even had an idea of how Moff Gideon could pop back up . “ I remember in our last time of year when I came to set , I had a different haircut because I figured I was in prison for a while and had no moustache . And then before I started shooting Jon Favreau do down and he kind of await at me and he grave his head , ” Esposito state . “ He go , ‘ No mustache ? ’ And I run , ‘ No ! No mustache . ’ And so it leaves it open with all of those clon that there ’s a possibility that Moff Gideon is still hiding out somewhere , wait to number back and take over . I can almost guarantee it . ”
At the same Los Angeles Comic Con dialog box , Esposito paid tribute to a pair ofStar Warslegends , including one very latterly departed , saying they helped form his own villainous performance . “ I went back and I watchedPeter Cushing‘s public presentation — his Grand Moff operation was very interesting to me , ” he say . “ I went back and looked atJames Earl Jonesbecause that was just inspiration to me , how he held himself , how he carry himself underneath that deluxe and very elegant costume . It take a retentive clip for me to even start to think that I was kind of a New - day Darth Vader . ”
