Today Google step up and responded to Microsoft ’s bid on Yahoo . uncalled-for to say , Google is not all that thrilled over thepossibility of a Microsoft / Yahoo merger , and Google Senior Vice President , David Drummond , made some passably aggressive statements about the scenario in a Google web log mail service titled “ Yahoo ! and the future of the Internet ” :

This is about more than simply a financial dealings , one company take over another . It ’s about preserve the underlying principles of the net : openness and institution .

Could Microsoft now attempt to exert the same kind of incompatible and illegal influence over the Internet that it did with the PC? … Could a combination of the two take reward of a PC software monopoly to below the belt limit the ability of consumer to freely access competitors ’ e-mail , IM , and web - found services ? Policymakers around the populace need to ask these questions — and consumers merit satisfying answer .
