Taking over Detective Comics with the four - part “ Gotham Nocturne ” arc is the creative squad of writer Ram V ( Swamp Thing , Venom ) , artist Rafael Albuquerque ( American Vampire , Superman / Batman ) , and colorist Dave Stewart ( Hellboy ) . Starting with issue # 1062 , Batman will be struck with a constant flavor of creeping dread , and that dread is spreading throughout the hoi polloi of Gotham . The city ’s hit with a melodic tonal pattern that ’s turning citizens into something pretty flagitious , and it ’s course on him to sort things out . “ The curtains are rise on a unexampled , terrifying mystery , ” teases the summary , “ as Batman tries to figure out what ’s happening to both the city he protects and his own brain in this lush , operatic mystery . ”
