LAPD officers later arrived at the scene, where Odom explained to them how the accident happened, according to Rodriguez. She told PEOPLE that officers questioned if Odom was sober at the time of the crash because they “knew his history” for past substance abuse issues.
Rodriguez confirmed to PEOPLE that Odom told the authorities he “didn’t drink” and “he hasn’t been using any drugs” as he now owns addiction recovery centers.
As a result, LAPD did not perform any field sobriety tests, she noted.
