Four years have passed sinceLuke Perrydied, but he still remains close toTori Spelling’s heart.

On Wednesday, the 50-year-old actress marked what would’ve been Perry’s 57th birthday. On her Instagram Story, she shared an image of the two from years ago seemingly dancing together.

Next to the sweet photo, Spelling wrote a message in which she remembered Perry as someone “who made you feel like you were the only one” in a crowded room.

“Could be a million people in the room but he always made you feel like you were the only one,” she wrote. “Good kind humans are a rare breed. I don’t know that many sadly. He was one.”

“Happy Birthday,” she added. “Missing you always.”

Perrydied from a strokeat age 52 on March 4, 2019. He and Spelling starred opposite one another onBeverly Hills, 90210, which ran for 10 seasons between 1990 and 2000.

At the time of his death, Spellingreflected on their close friendshipin a conversation with PEOPLE.

“Luke was one of the kindest and most humble human beings I’ve ever known,” she said. “I’m grateful for the years of friendship we had. He truly was family to me, a protector and a brother. I’m so sorry for the loss that everyone is experiencing.”

Perry played bad boy heartthrob Dylan McKay in the beloved series. On the first anniversary of his death, Spelling opened up to PEOPLE about how the role was fitting with who he was as a person.

“Luke was so charming and very Dylan-esquewith all the girls. He would just make you feel so special. and it was real,” she explained. “He was such a genuine person.”

“He used to call me Camel Lashes. At first I said, ‘You’re calling me a camel,’ upset, and then he’s like, ‘No, do you know what that means? Camels have the most beautiful long eyelashes,'” she continued.

“I was in a verbally abusive relationship when I was 19,” she toldhostJana Kramer. “Yeah,Luke hated him and was very protective. At my parents’ Christmas Eve party one year, he was there and saw this ex-boyfriend, and they got into it.”

“I was 19, so I was mad at him instead of realizing, in hindsight, that this guy loved me and was like, ‘I don’t care. I’m gonna go to bat for her,’ " she said.
